Skate Great's Learn to Skate program follows the nationally recognised U.S. Figure Skating's Snowplow Sam and Basic Skills Curriculums

Snowplow Sam

  • The Snowplow Sam program is designed to help preschool aged skaters develop preliminary coordination and strength to maneuver the ice
  • Program consists of three levels
  • Skaters receive badges upon the completion of each level

Basic Skills

  • The Basic Skills curriculum teaches the fundamentals of the sport through eight levels
  • The fundamental moves include: forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns, and Mohawks
  • Skaters receive badges upon the completion of each level
  • After they have completed all 8 levels, skaters will know the fundamentals of skating enabling them to advance to the more specialized areas of skating.
